MAC Stops Milk Partnership And Signs A Deal With The CFDA

Nobody supports fashion week quite like MAC. There’s no other brand that does as many shows and supports designers quite in the same way. This New York fashion week alone it will sponsor 76 shows. Naturally it’s an expensive undertaking so this year the brand seems to have re-evaluate where it’s putting its resources.

According to WWD, the beauty giant is furthering its commitment to supporting designers by entering a partnership with the CFDA. The deal is worth an estimated $1 million and will see become the official beauty sponsor for CFDA initiatives like the and the .

The partnership is a big commitment so it’s only natural that other projects would get dropped and sadly that means that MAC & Milk is no more. The beauty company has decided not to continue as the event’s principal beauty sponsor but will continue to work with designers showing there and throughout the city.

It’ll be very interesting to see which brand Milk turn to to replace MAC. It’ll also be fascinating to observe how MAC’s pairing with the CFDA will impact its authority. Something tells me that we’re going to see a lot more from the CFDA this year and I’m sure the big cash injection from the deal will go a long way in helping make that happen.
