Tuleh Might Be Closing
Tuleh just cancelled its Autumn/Winter runway show, and now speculation is mounting that the label might be through. According to WWD, the brand can’t satisfy its creditors, supported by by Trilea Holdings Inc, which reportedly have dropped investments in the label. “The business has been and continues to be unprofitable, and creditors were making demands that the company could not satisfy,” a Trilea representative said.
Now, Trilea is searching for ways to save Tuleh – from bringing in new licensing deals to getting a new loan to selling the company in full. There’s no word about what will happen to Tuleh’s lower-priced line, Bryan Bradley, or the mainline’s spring deliveries. Although the New York Fashion Week schedule, in general, is looking more upbeat this season, the struggles of Tuleh are another reason to remember that the R word hasn’t passed yet. For now, here’s hoping we don’t have another Christian Lacroix or Phi situation to report.
